B&Q is the cheapest retailer on the British high street when it comes to kitchens, undercutting Ikea, Homebase and Wickes on price, according to a new study.

Comparison website, Kitchen Compare, awarded the DIY chain the accolade of 'Lowest Priced National DIY Retailer of Kitchens 2018' after monitoring the cost of a standard kitchen from all the major retailers for the past 365 days.

Kitchen Compare's analysis takes a directly comparable eight-unit 'Galley' model across 33 styles, and records the prices daily throughout the year.

At the end of 2018, price data is analysed to establish which retailer's prices were the lowest across the comparable styles. The data showed B&Q had four times as many comparable, lowest priced kitchens as its closest competitors – scooping the award across 20 kitchens, compared to Homebase's five, and Wickes' three.

The comparison site's expert panel say B&Q consistently offers customers the best value for money and boasts higher quality kitchens, when compared to Homebase, Ikea and Wickes.
